I had a ticket with Egyptair from Toronto to Cairo but the name on the eTicket was Larry and not Lawrence as per my passport. When I arrived for the flight they refused to let me check in because of this but suggested for $100.00 they could change the name on my ticket.
They then came back to me and said that the plane was full, one of the seats was mine, they would let me use the seat but they would have to charge me $2,300.00 in CASH, no credit cards! After about 15 minutes they approached me again and said they could give me a deal at $1,900.00 but it had to be all cash. I left the airport with my luggage and booked through another airline. I missed my connecting flights and it cost me another day in travel.
I have emailed Egyptair several times and they will not acknowledge the demand for cash only at the airport in Toronto.
What type of airline only accepts cash??? I doesn't pass the smell test to me.

We flew egyptair in the summer from paris to cairo and cairo to sharm-al-sheikh and they lost our baggage. For our diving week in sharm- we had to buy everything outside.
their customer service was so bad that we just stopped the procedure for any compensation as it was more time drain that we had the time for. after that experience, we stopped checking bags in anywhere and only travel with cabin luggage.
Come winter vacation planning, my husband books them again ( we had a big fight about it) as he got a decent deal on business from mumbai to cairo and cairo to New york with a stop over in cairo so we could see the pyramids. he said we have booked business, they allow 2 cabin pieces per passenger and so we should be good.
well, we flew on jan 5th 2024, and at mumbai airport, they were like " no you cannot take all this in". we tried reasoning with them saying our ticket says we can take two but no avail.
On the plane, they not only made us take the luggage down, but they screamed at us, made snide comments " there's no way other airlines allow you to take this baggage" and were very rude and kept saying- khalas khalas. the business seats would not recline all the way for that plane and it was the most terrible business flight i have ever taken

The company contacted me to find out what happened after they saw what I posted but no Ona has gotten back to me since. I haven’t heard from them about what is going to happen next after the money that I lost.
An hour 30 minutes later we find out that it’s the cloudy skies in London. The cabin crew or pilot failed to mention this. I must say the calmest passengers ever as no one has thrown a fit, we are all just silently confused.

- Lack of communication about flight delays and cleanliness
Preferred solution: I have a connecting flight that looks like I’m going to miss in South Africa, from Johannesburg to Durban. I want to be reimbursed for it because of the lack of communication as to why the flight delayed.
